Using fasterfox is a nightmare to servers... Better to use about:config.

I tried the beta and it broke 90 % (About 25 lol) of my addons. Not good. So I use 2.0.0.14. It works flawlessly like any other. Of course I have tweaked the settings..

FasterFox breaks a few RFC specs, just like most of the popular manual about:config tweaks. Compare your config against what FasterFox does. Odds are the resulting tweaks are quite similar.

The big concern is HTTP prefetching, which has been a point of contention in regards to FasterFox. HTTP prefetching can cause serious problems for some sites, but FasterFox does not enable it by default anyway, it is simply that the option is there to enable if desired. Still, I suggest nobody enable HTTP prefetching, regardless of the tweak process used.

I use the about:config settings you pasted in IIJM a while back.

Pretty modest if you ask me.

Keymaker, there are a couple of potential changes worth noting.

If the browser does not get a HTTP pipeline established within a few requests, it might as well go ahead with fallback to traditional HTTP transfers. You might actually get a little better page load performance with some servers by scaling back from your current value of 20 to a more common value like 8.

You also can bump keepalive timeouts to 300 without too much concern about trashing server-side resources.

Otherwise, while I use several different network values than those you have, your values are acceptable enough for a standard broadband connection.

Yes, I have other values I use. Just attached the network settings.

Will lower the server count.

In regards to my current HTTP settings for Firefox:

Note, many of the tweaks are now marked "default" because they were automatically carried over during a recent change.

BTW, if ya' look close enough, you can note the FasterFox add-on is installed as well. ;p For those interested in page design, the page timer alone is worth the install.

network.htttp.pipelining.sll ??? Wonder if I could utilize that in 2.0.0.14? (Add the boolean value)

My redirection limit is 10.

Yeap, pipelining for HTTPS connections, but I suspect it is not supported in Firefox 2 and possibly even Firefox 3. Note, I am currently running Minefield 3.1a1pre trunk, which is the precursor to Firefox 3.1 branch.

The redirection limit is more of a security issue than a performance tweak. 10 is an acceptable value. 5 would probably even work for most users.
