| FCC Comment Submission on the new MPAA restriction
Please let the FCC hear your voice on the new MPAA proposal:The MPAA wants the FCC to allow cable and satellite providers to remotely disable analog outputs on their set-top boxes via selectable output controls (SOC). Right now its illegal for them to use those controls to block the content you paid for.
If you want your voice to be heard by the FCC, The link to the FCC comment sheet is here. The docket(proceeding) number is 08-82.
While I agree piracy is bad, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! This will NOT prevent piracy any more than any of the other methods attempted by the MPAA or RIAA. I hate the constant hassle of dealing with DRM. Its been proven to be useless in preventing piracy. This will be another useless "feature" that I will be required to deal with, that I dont need, nor want, and I am tired of schemes that dont work being rammed down my throat for the sake of the studio executives paychecks.
