GigaByte GA-EP45-DS3L Motherboard Review

Quote:
Today, I will be looking at the EP45-DS3L, Gigabyte's economy-priced P45 motherboard. This is probably the least expensive newly released motherboard I have seen coming from either of the top two motherboard manufacturers in a very long time, and obviously marketed towards those buyers looking at buying boards from ECS, ASRock, or one of the other manufacturers that build budget motherboards. Will the EP45-DS3L meet the high standards that we have come to expect from a Gigabyte motherboard, with features found on its bigger brothers? Read on to see!

It's making me want to get a loan

Shame about the SATA ports location. Really would think if you buy that board your going to have a card that covers those slots. No point in them being there..

Im not entirely sure your looking at the same board reviewed. the SATA ports are basicly in the same spot as many other manufacturers locate the SATA ports. The only thing that might even potentially block, cover, or make it difficult to work with the SATA is a PCI-E 1x card. As many people arn't making the switch for anything but video cards to PCI-E, i hardly see how this is an issue. I can't think of a long board audio card that would have the 9+" length card needed to actually reach that far back like some GPU's have. In fact, i dont think my Dual TV-Tuner card is more then 6" and should fall well short of the SATA ports.

Can you clarify what exactly you think is going to block the SATA ports?
