    AMD hits 6.5 ghz!

     
    World Record Holders in overclocking on the new AMD. Overclocked faster than intel with liquid nitrogen and helium! Swwwweeeeeet 6.5ghz they say. I had to watch it to believe it. YouTube - AMD Phenom II Overclocked to 6.5GHz - New World Record for 3DMark. What do you think? Overclocking anyone?? Pretty nice 3dmark score if you ask me

    That record has already been beaten. Although, by a processor that is not yet available, but will be soon.

    Intel Core i7 975 Extreme Leaked, Benchmarked, Used to Break 3DMark Record - Intel to up the ante with higher-performance Bloomfield - Softpedia


    While the Phenom II got the highest GHZ speed, an i7 running at 1ghz less is still going to be faster.

    I agree that the i7 will be faster overall in scores. This was just great news for overclockers that the limits have yet to been reached and that there is much room to grow. With all the ability to overclock these future processors it gets me really excited to see what developments in cooling are in store for us.

    I would like to see that. Maybe liquid cooling will be cheaper to get.

    I think it's good AMD is back in the game. If nothing else, they are making Intel produce FAST chips.

    it is nice to see the competition is still there. not everyone needs the latest and greatest and AMD is perfect for friends on a budget. as for realistic speeds they did do some awesome stuff on just air. This one shows them hitting 3.9 on air YouTube - AMD Phenom II, 3.9GHz Air-Cooled, 6.3GHz Liquid, Chicago
