Verizon intends to test next-generation 4G LTE wireless cellular service in the Boston, Seattle markets before year's end, with commercial deployments in up to 30 more markets during 2010.

LTE is Verizon's next-generation, "4G" network, which will supplement and eventually replace its existing CDMA network and provide average data speeds between 8-12 Mbps.

On the iPhone front, Denny Strigl, Verizon's president and chief operating officer, said that Verizon customers can "expect to see a steady stream of attractive devices" in the coming months, but those devices will apparently not include the iPhone.
