    First look: Zune HD

    From Ars Technica:

The Zune HD goes on sale today. It's small, has a gorgeous OLED screen, WiFi, HD radio, and even apps. Our first impressions of the device inside.
I didnt want to get one originally ... but since they are retiring all the old hardware its going to be harder and harder to get another one ... Maybe soon when i can afford it.

Zunes are getting apps now. Are the old ones gonna be able to use them or just the HD?

60 GB NOMAD Jukebox Zen Xtra MP3 Player MP3 player reviews - CNET Reviews

Still going. Why retire a good thing. I ponder if there are any iPods from my vintage still kicking? I have replaced the battery 4 times. Easy Cheesy, pop open the cover.

I will purchase a new mp3 player when someone can match my delicious Sony PSP screen. Then I will have an incredible all-in-one even if it is a little clunky in size.

I have this Nomad Jukebox's little brother, the 6GB model. It was a 70GB model for a brief period, but that drive quit on me. It's still working with the 6GB HDD though.

I also have a 120GB Zune which gets a lot more use than the old beast. I'm guessing that Zune should last me a while too. It has wifi (but I don't know why), it can play video & has an FM tuner. The Zune HD does look really nice though.

My drive quit on me also after a drop.

I am amazed that a trick online resurrected my "stuck" drive. A simple hard tap on the Xtras top left corner on boot cleared the issue for me somehow, lol.

    From Ars Technica:

Bit more of an indepth review at 3 pages.

Wifi has two uses. You can share using an adhoc network with another zune or you can stream new media to your Zune over your wifi network. Nifty stuff ... if i ever fix my damn wireless i plan on abusing this with my media doc.
