| High Definition Television - Circa 1958
The Teleavia type P111 television provided support for up to 819 lines of display; enough resolution to qualify as a "high definition" model even by today's digital television standards. Quote:
This system began in France in 1949 but never really got off the ground. Bennett-Levy speculates that Teleavia may have been trying to "future-proof" the P111 in case the French government decided to resurrect the service.
