| Netgear Intros Linux WiFi Router Model
Seemingly taking a cue from the popularity of various aftermarket router firmware projects, the new Netgear RangeMax WNR3500L 802.11n WiFi router comes with Linux pre-installed, along with readily supporting the installation of other solutions such as DD-WRT and Tomato. Availability is slated for sometime this fall with an expected retail list price around $140. Quote:
To help, the new RangeMax has a 480MHz MIPS processor with 8MB of flash and 64MB of RAM that combined should help run more strenuous network tasks.
Out of the box, the router can reach up to 350Mbps in peak conditions and supports up to WPA2 security.
