    Google Launches Public DNS Service

Appears to have no annoying redirects on failed queries, either.

Validity: Google Public DNS complies with the DNS standards and gives the user the exact response his or her computer expects without performing any blocking, filtering, or redirection that may hamper a user's browsing experience.

Knowing google's affinity for advertising, I wouldn't of been suprised if they were taking aggregate data from requests.. but it does not seem to be the case.
