Apple Sues A.PL (a grocery store)

This one ranks up there in the completely ridiculous to me. Apple is suing a grocery store over their trademark and a logo. The A.PL site is actually named "A" with Pl being the country domain name for Poland. The logo apparently is a green Apple which sort of resembles Apple's logo with the exception of the giant bite. But either way are we really going to click one site and be confused that they are in any way affiliated with the other??

Apple vs. A.pl: Tech company sues online Polish grocer over logo | PCWorld

Polish news site Telepolis reports that the Cupertino-based tech company has set its lawsuit-happy sights on another company over trademark issues. Only this time it's not a global tech company that happens to make an iPhone-like smartphone--it's an online Polish grocery site called A.pl.

Maybe the Creators of the various Apple Varieties should go after Apple, assuming Apple doesn't have a license to use their names, and someone actually owns the patent for that type of apple, such as the McIntosh Apples, Pippin (Newtown Pippin), and whatever else Apples used over the years.

but this lawsuit is just flipping stupid, the Government or other Foreign Governments need to step in and put Apple in their place, they did the same with MS and Intel, why can't they do the same for Apple?

Yes, the site uses an Apple as a logo, but it in NO WAY looks like the Apple Logo, and the site, and company resemble Apple In no way.

This is the sites URL Address: O firmie • Internetowy sklep spożywczy • A.pl

I don't know how they think they can go after them for that, or the Green Apple Logo.

When one thinks of FRESH foods and especially Produce, most think of Fresh Ready to eat Apples, which I can imagine that is why they chose such a logo.

Besides its a Green Apple, most are Granny Smith Apples, Does Apple have any Products under the Granny Smith Name either? No.

I was looking for something totally unrelated, an "pods" lawsuit and ran across a citing in Wikipedia about another case they took up against a business and tech school over their logo. Apples and Oranges: The VSBT vs. Apple Inc. Logo Dispute | Q College

They settled, with the school changing its name. Now at least in that case it was a "tech" related company/site but seriously now those logos aren't going to be confused.

This one I actually recalled. yet another totally ludicrous claim Apple bites over Woolworths logo

I think Apple's legal team (and some others) just grew up in the age of frivolous lawsuits and litigation. They are just overly sue happy when it comes to some of the most ridiculous things. I'm not sure if the companies are to blame, the legal system for allowing this crap, or the government for not stepping in and putting a halt to it. But its getting insane

    LMFAO!!!

Love that one, bookmarked, saved, streamed and shared on FB LOL.

I'm not an Apple Fan by any means, about the only Apple Products I'd even consider buying are the more mundane basic Ipods like the Nano and such, anything from an iPhone on up I won't touch though.

if I needed just a basic MP3 player, I like those little Nano's (6 Gen), but beyond that, not much else, as I'd rather have something like the Samsung Galaxy 5" Android Media Player unit instead.

its not just the OS, but the customization, and expansion/inter-connectivity of the device that I like, plus the 5" Display.

I grew up on the original Apples and Macs in school, and they were easy to use, but as I got towards graduation I was leaning more towards PC's as they were more flexible, and much MUCH more software and whatever else on the platform, than Apples.

Yeah, we had nothing but Apples in the schools I went to as well.

My MP3 player is a Lexmark and I don't have to use proprietary software to put music on it. I just click copy and paste music to the MP3 folder. Plus it has a built in FM radio and a FM transmitter to stream my music to a FM radio station on a radio.

I've got a SansaView 8GB player, lasts a lifetime on one charge, but I never use it anymore, always my phone, since its all in one place, but would be nice to have a dedicated media player device as well, one of the reasons I've been eyeing up the Samsung Galaxy players, 5 inch model, lately, larger screen, lacks phone function so should be less of power drain and would hopefully be longer lasting than my phones battery.
