smapdi:

I was updating my Win2KPro last evening and was prompted to DL SP3. I did and computer is running great. I just switched over from Win98. The stability difference seems apparent to me. I really like the NT based OS.

I think the new EULA is really unacceptable. What is really out of order is that it comes not with a new OS that you can actually chose to use it or not, but with a bunch of fixes that we do need for the OS we have paid for to operate as it should have in the first place.

The irony of this is that among other things SP3 supposedly carries the DOJ requirements.

Yet it ask us to agree to this:

"You acknowledge and agree that Microsoft may automatically check the version of the OS Product and/or its components that you are utilizing and may provide upgrades or fixes to the OS Product that will be automatically downloaded to your computer,"

Personally I don't agree and I find hard to believe most didn't even bother with it.

What's next? checking up on us in person?

But the lords upon high at Redmond think it best for us!!
We shall all FOLLOW them!!
If Bill speaks we must LISTEN!!!
We must REJOICE that MS wants to update our PC without ever telling us with WHATEVER they wish!!
