...because of the war on Iraq. The US is considering degrading the satellite signals to ≥100 meter accuracy in order to hamper the Iraqi military (ours uses a restricted channel).

Presumably our military would have decoders so their GPS units could retain their accuracy.

I've never used one of these things but they certainly look like cool toys. But I'm just one of those guys that never gets lost.

I remember reading a news tidbit that a Pentagon spokesman said GPS accuracy should not be affected with current war plans.
