| New Virus? - Teenage girl's face
Hello,
I am trying to find out if there is a virus out there that flashes a teenage girls face on the screen every couple of minutes. Has anyone heard of this before? How do I fix it?
I hope my computer is not haunted!!!
Thanks. |

Have you already scanned your computer with a virus scan and the newest virus definitions from your vendor?
Also try a free online virus scan. http://housecall.antivirus.com
Lastly I would look for trojans. Check out the cleaner: http://www.moosoft.com/
If all three come up negative then maybe you do have something new. Nothing I've heard of yet though. Maybe you're a lucky first victim!

I still get confused with this posting quotes notatechi
I've never heard of anything like what you have mentioned , but it sounds like I wouldn't mind being a victim either

Welcome to techimo.
What O/S?
Ctrl + Alt + Delete in Windows98 would possibly give you a hint of what is running.
Maybe click on Start, Run and type msconfig and hit enter. Go to the Startup tab. This works in all O/S's except Win95/2000
Anything in the list you don't recognize? Post the items here if you don't know what they all are.
Cheers! |

I once heard of a virus from where a SUV with mud on its wheels ran through the screen and left permanent tire marks on the screen on top of what ever you are woking on.

Is it just the desktop or the whole screen maybe(if you want to) you can replace the desktop wallpaper. |
