| Hammer no longer allowed Check this out from the Inquirer.
When my boss saw this, he made me get rid of our plastic hammer too! This sort of action is quite atypical of AMD, IMO. But maybe they just want to kill ALL association with Intel's architecture, etc. as they can.
Meh, still an interesting read! |

That is the biggest mistake I have seen AMD make in a while. I know they are trying to kepp people from thinking of them as an Intel wannabe, but that is full of sh**. |

Methinks they don't really need to ride around in Intel's wake anymore. It could, as you say, be a mistake, but I think that AMD's got enough of a name now to pull this off.
Heck, look at Apple. After all the crap they've pulled they're still around (and I still want one). |

I don't know about you, but that site seems to be about as reliable an information source as the former Iraqi Minister of Information. |

Inquirer is usually pretty good, actually. It's the Enquirer you need to run from. |

It could be because the rumored Intel Yamhill processor (also x86-64) doesn't run the same 64bit extensions as AMD's.
That'd be a real great thing for them to do, try and force an incompatible 64bit set down everyone's throat after AMD's extensions become ubiquitous just because they want to be "in control." |

One thing is for sure...September may be more fun than Christmas this year!
