Yikes, what's with all the security holes that's popping up lately? How many more holes are not popping up publicly that the "undergrounders" know about?? Freaky. And all these companies saying they want to upgrade their client machines to XP and bypass W2K, this should make them think twice before taking the plunge.

Well I submitted it more than 5 minutes before it appeared and I DID say that it applied to 98, 98 SE and ME if P&P services running... I think they should give us all a byline! |

I received the MS Security Bulletin at 11:16 a.m. (PST) and have posted it in my MS Security Bulletins - Vol. 1 thread when I got home from work.
Makes me wonder why this "critical" patch has gotten airwave action compared to other critical patches
Hmmm...
Edit: haha.. just as I posted this, another MS Security Bulletin came in (Apparently unrelated - this one is for Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 and Microsoft SQL Server 2000). See the above-linked thread. |

the issue is of course that people concentrate on windows since it's only used by about 95% of the computing people in the world, so they're gonna find all these holes, because the script kiddies will wanna exploit them to prove their l337. |

Mm hmm... and another major reason you find out more about security holes in windows is because there are more. That's also a big reason why malicious hackers will concentrate on windows more - they know they'll have a much better chance of actually finding a security hole. After all, it's made by Microshaft..... |
