The Console Wars

Well isn't the Gameboy Advance cheaper? Don't you think that would have something to do with it?

yes and no. the gba is a popular thing for many parents since their kids can take it with them and be entertained out on the roads and whatnot.

i know my gameboy came in handy when i was little to keep me occupied.

My son has a GBA and, although my fingers and thumbs wont move fast enough or to the right key, I am impressed with the thing. The graphics are very good but it needs a backlight.

Yes, the GBA has great graphics, and is fun for the (big) kids, but backlight would make playing the games more enjoyable. Perhaps Nintendo thinks kids have great vision, so no need for extra lighting? Just a thought...

Well don't they have the better vision?

I actually do remember playing the GBA in Best buy and if I were going to be a car for a while and I wasn't using the laptop, or sleeping I definetely wouldn't mind having one.

They had a "lamp" type deal for the Game Boy so if there isn't one for the Advance yet there will be. Makes it much easier on the eyes.

I just saw a commercial for a GBA lamp. That was one of the first things I bought for my Gameboy so I could play at night after my parents had made me go to bed. I was supposed to be for long trips when it got dark. They always wondered why they needed to get me more and more batteries. :P

I hope the battery life is a little longer. I have to replace the stupid things in his color Game Boy constantly. And he hardly plays it...... at least I though he hardly played it.

My son has the lamp thing, a single white LED on a sort of stiff curly wire, the magnifier also has two tinly lamps in too, but they are not a match for backlighting. I think it was very shortsighted of them not to include it.
