CF Cards Damaged by Irridation of US Mail to destroy Anthrax

To protect public health and ensure confidence in the US Mail system, the USPS in October began using electron beam irradiation systems to sanitize certain mail streams against anthrax and other possible biological agents.

Testing has confirmed that these systems, which operate in the range of 55 kGy, damage not only semiconductors, but other goods as well, including pharmaceuticals, contact lenses, biological samples, and photographic film.

well that figures. frankly though i'd rather be healthy than have perfect goods.

or i'll just ship through ups like i do anyway.

Is there any possiblilty that they started this earlier -

I had four sets of plastic lenses for my glasses - they lasted about a week - and then you could not see at night at all -

and they were coming from states ?
