48 bit LBA or 28 bit LBA

I have a Gateway 500XL that I bought in 1/2002. I just bought a 200 GB drive. Do you think that my mobo is still new enough to support 48 bit LBA to support this drive, or do you think that it has 28 bit LBA? I have XP Pro Service Pack 1 so that should already be set for 48 bit LBA.

I'm guessing a system that new should be fine. Are you up to date with BIOS revisions?
