Gigabyte GA/7N400/L New Install Probs

Here is the hardware:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Model Name :GA/7N400/L
--------------------------
M/B Rev : 1.0
BIOS Ver: 6.00pg
Serial No : (01)04719331726034(21)sn0333031940
Purchase Dealer : tiger direct
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
VGA Brand : Nvidia Model : Gforce 8x agp 256mb DDR
CPU Brand : AMD Speed : 2.5+
Operation System : Win 2000 SP :
Memory Brand : Micron Size : 512mb
Memory Type : DDR Speed : 333hz
Power supply : 425 W

This was my original problem:

When ever I install windows 2000, I keep getting a blue screen message that says my system bios are not ACPI compliant with the ACPI specification. I have loaded the default settings and the optimized settings in the bios before loading windows 2000. What do I need to do to solve this problem. I successfully bypassed the ACPI by pressing the f5 key during the text mode setup and selecting the pc computer option.

Here is my current problem:

I now cannot load my windows 2000 completely. Whenever it starts to copy the files I inevitably get a file that it cannot copy. Then a blue screen comes up that says I need to remove any new hard drives. I successfully loaded this software onto this harddrive on three other computers. If I load it on another computer and then put the hard drive into this computer a blue screen comes up that says Inaccessible_boot_Device.

Here is what I know:

1.) There is nothing wrong with my software.
2.) There is nothing wrong with my memory. I have installed it on three computers and had no problems.
3.) There is nothing wrong with my hard drive. I have loaded windows 98 and windows 2000 onto the hard drive on three different computers.
4.) I only have a problem when I try to put the hard drive or the software into the computer using this board.
5.) The memory, hard drive, motherboard, and software are all brand new.

I need some assistance as soon as possible.

Pendragon2U,
Some things to consider:
I do quite abit of surfing for motherboard/support problems, and as I have the Pro Gigabyte board, I see quite a few post about it.

The Problem that you describe has been seen before and turned out to be a memory related problem. The gigabyte Nforce2 boards are very picky about ram, so i would have to ask you if you have run memtest and if that 512 is two sticks of ram, have you tried with just one.

The other thing you need to know is that the strength of your power supply will play a significant part, so what are the 12v, 5v, and 3v outputs...

Here is a link for you to a gigabyte New Owners Guide Lotta good info in there.

Also there is a very good Gigabyte specific forum where you can get lots of good help Gigabyte Forum You tell em MOM sent you and they will take good care of you

Laterz,
dafanman
