help me analyze bootlog time printout

My friends computer is taking 4 minutes to boot...it didnt used to take that long.

Its a WinME comp.

I used this program http://www.vision4.dial.pipex.com/ which is a cool boot time analyzer...it shows the time at each point.

See the attachment....

it is ok then at the one point it takes like 3 minutes at the one point....enumerating software??

Can someone help us out here?

What can she do to fix it? What about reloading windows over the top?? If she did that would she need to look up a bunch of drivers?? Id rather her not have to do that.....I think it would find the old drivers though etc.

Thanks, JP

It looks to me like the previous entry is the one causing trouble. You might try reinstalling the ac97 sound driver

ok, maybe that attachment is unreadable

the two entires that are causing issues, from what it looks like are

-----> these 4 together are taking 34 seconds---> Enumerating Microsoft Kernel System Audio Renderer (SW\{A7C7A5B0-5AF3-11D1-9CED-00A024BF0407}\{9B365890-165F-11D0-A195-0020AFD156E4})

and this one is taking a whopping 144 seconds

It's separate from the 4-in-1 drivers. I think you can get a generic driver from via, but it's probably best to get it from the mobo manufacturer's site
