Help!

Hi Everyone,

Before I say anything..Techimo is really one of the best places to look for help when u have trouble with Computer stuff...

I need some help..There is a slight problem I am facing with my Laptop's infrared port.

Previously I was able to transfer stuff from my computer to my palm and to other laptops..My infra red port will always auto detect the presence of another computer.

However recently I have been trying to transfer something from my palm to my laptop and the laptop would just refuse to detect my palm.

I tried using my friend's lap top and it works it auto detects.Thus it rules out a problem with my palm.But when I tried sending files to my laptop from my friends' laptop.His computer will have an error msg

Its something like "The other user actively refuses to receive files"

I am puzzled as my friend's laptop detects my laptop but mine doesn't detect him.

I have checked my control panel many many times but they say the device is working well.

Did I do something wrong...??

Someone in Techimo please save me!

did you uptade any drivers or add any hardware?

look in the device manager to see if there is a yellow ?

Not too good with laptops (actually know pretty much nothing about infared ports) anyways umm...this is just a guess...does like a firewall have anything to do with your infared port? I will look for some more answers but that is all I can think of right now

Hey Guys...

I kinda found out why my com didn't work.

Its in one of the files which I got from Windows Update.

The file I required was

"Remote Assistance Update"

And now my IR port is working..

Oh no this is embarassing....

I forgot how to post a new msg....

But anyway my friend's webcam can't connect to me...And I can't seem to solve the problem?

According to her.When she is connecting to my computer her own MSN window stops and hangs and as a result can't work...

Do u think u know why?
