I have a unknown 'PCI Device' listed in Device Manager running 2k w/sp4. I removed it but it keeps on trying to install something.
I have pulled out all cards except for the AGP video card, but it still shows. I do have a memory card reader (NO software loaded) using a USB port, but that shouldn't matter. I did a clean install of only 2k with no SP's and it still shows. On board audio is disabled if that matters.
Epox EP8-RDA nForce2 MB
2/04 bios (did it with the 8/03 bios).
Did I miss something?

I had this happen once with a clean install of w2k.
It ended up being something on my mobo. Don't remember what it was as this was like two years ago.
Go to: start> Programs> Accessories> System Tools> System Information
Then Open the 'Components' file and click on 'Problem Devices'
See what it says there.

Some times it is possible when all else has been loaded to remove the problem device, reboot and the device and driver will be installed.
Remember that when installing Windows there are going to be a number of devices found with no drivers installed.
Go to this link and D/L EVEREST Home Edition http://www.lavalys.com/index.php?pa...duct&view=1
You will be able to find out all you need about your system, and hardware. Locate the driver(s) and install as instructed.
