DVD Dive

I have encountered a problem opening D: drive contents (DVD)- thru Explorer or My Computer. Get
a message " D:\ IS NOT ACCESSIBLE Incorrect function". I can open a movie thru the Windows Media Player Menu but AutoPlay itself will not work. Have checked the settings and AutoPlay is checked.Any help. Thank you.

Does it say the same if you click d: from the explorer left pane?

Why do you have the need to open dvd from there anyway?

If I have a data DVD I have to open same ftom somewhere to view contents. Data DVD or AuoPlay will not work. Left pane does not help.

Ah, true.. Didn't think dvd contained data

Can you access it from dos? From command prompt I mean.
It might be that something is locking the drive (like incd).

InCD is a program by ahead that allows you to write to a drive by dragging and dropping stuff there.
Meaning, your drive works a bit like removable hard drive.

Of course, if you don't have any burner/software, that can't be the issue.

Usually when I see 'Incorrect function' it's either because the cd/dvd is empty, or because it was written in such media/format that the drive can't read it.

Now that I think of it I also installed Pinnacle Instant Copy which has its own burner.
