Hi everyone this is my first post on TechImo so here it goes...
I just bought a new comp yesterday but windows XP packed in for some reason so i need to reinstall it, however, the new hard drive that i want to install XP onto is a SATA device and the XP installation disk does not read any hard drives when i run setup. The hard drive is recognised using the RAID utility that is with the motherboard.
The motherboard i purchased is the Abit NF7-S, and im using a 80gb hitachi SATA hard drive. I believe all the settings are correct in BIOS but im not really an expert so i could have missed something.
Is there any way to get the XP installation to recognise it or will i have to reinstall XP on my old IDE hard drive and then go from there?
I want to install XP on the new SATA hard drive, then plug the other hard drive in and copy all my old files across, so my bro can have my old HD. Any help would be appriciated.
Thx for listening guys...
