Computer doesnt read all the memory

I recently got this Gateway 2000 comp given to me, its a 166 Mhz, not too impressive, but there is a 64 MB RAM card in the motherboard, but when the Computer loads up, it only reads 16 MB Ram, and i know the card is 64 cuz ive tried it in another comp b4 and it says 64, ive even put a 128 in it, and it only reads 32 MB, so can anyone help plz?

Thanks

Send a message via MSN to Beemer
You may need double sided RAM for that baby.

Cheers!

Welcome to TechIMO!

That means your memory module is too high density for that system. I believe what you have is a 168 pin sdram and your system there uses 168 pin edo ram. The clue is that it sees 1/4 of the drams.
