Heya
My mates got a problem with his pc, whenever he logs into windows, it logs him straight back out. It will show the user name of the person you want to log in as, he clicks it, it comes up with "logging in" or whatever, then it flicks then says "saving your settings" and logs out back to the main page
Ive tried everything f8 has to offer like "safe mode", and "last know configuration" and i have tried "recovery" process on the xp cd?
Any ideas on how to fix this? ive heard it could be a virus or winlogon.exe is corrupt, and i have no ideas how to fix this in dos |

Sounds like he have winXP. Has it been activated? It gives you 30 days without activation.

Still sound like activation problems. Have you made any changes to the system? It could be a worm screwing with you though.

Try repairing from a windows xp cd....& make a backup of all your files....& after that run a fresh installation on your pc using the same CD......DON'T FORGET TO INSTALL AN ANTI VIRUS & UPDATE IT THIS TIME OK...GOOD LUCK DUDE |

I have the same problem...is the any way to Fix/Prevent without the standard..."Reinstall xp" answer everyone wants to give..."just erase everything and see if that works" isn't really helping. |
