WINDOWS 2000 BLUE SCREEN ERROR--I NEED HELP

I AM A NEW USER TO THIS FORUM, SO PLEASE BE PATIENT WITH ME. MY PROBLEM IS THAT I TRIED TO REINSTALL WINDOWS 2000 PROFESSIONAL BY USING THE UPGRADE FEATURE, BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WOULD CORRECT FILES THAT MAY BE CORRUPTED. HOWEVER, WHEN IT CAME TIME FOR THE COMPUTER TO REBOOT IT GAVE ME THE BLUE SCREEN STOP ERROR MESSAGE AS FOLLOWS:

STOP OX0000001E (OXC0000005 OXED091A59, OX000000, OX00000028)
KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

I HAVE 2 PHYSICAL HARD DRIVES AND MY "C" DRIVE HAS BEEN PARTITION. MY COMPUTER SPECS ARE AS FOLLOWING:

HEWLETT PACKARD WITH A INTEL PENTIUM II PROCESSOR, 400 MHZ, 640K SYSTEM RAM. PER MY SETUP MODE I HAVE THE FOLLOWING:
HARD DISK DRIVES: 1) QUANTUM FIREBALL CR6.4A- (PM); 2) MAXTOR 90720D5 - (PS). MY IDE DEVICES: PRIMARY MASTER [6449MB]; PRIMARY SLAVE [7203 MB]

PLEASE TELL ME HOW I CAN FIX THIS PROBLEM SO THAT MY COMPUTER WILL REBOOT. BY THE WAY I TRIED TO REBOOT IN THE SAFE MODE AND IT WILL NOT LET ME NOR WILL IT LET ME REBOOT USING MY LAST PROFILE. PLEASE HELP ME.

Quickly googled it and came up with this:-

http://support.microsoft.com/default...NoWebContent=1

But judging from the results from microsoft, it could be almost anything.
