That is most definitely adware and spyware to me. Kazaagold may say that it doesn't come with adware or spyware, but i wouldn't trust that if my life depended on it. Also there are many other ways to ge adware and spyware besides installing kazaa (running kazaa is one such way...i would recommend getting rid of kazaa entirely). Download and run both ad-aware and spybot. That should get it running faster. Also check and make sure that you don't have any viruses. If that still doesn't work download and run Hijack This.
If that STILL doesn't fix it then post back here and we'll see what else we can come up with. |

With three toolbars you are loaded with spyware and maybe a virii or two also.
Download Ad-Aware
Update it and then run it to remove spyware.
I also would have a anti-virus program running with any p2p.
If you don't have one try Trendmicro's HouseCall
Both of these programs are free.
EDIT: Damn, took to long hunting the links.

Ow, ow, ow! Just because Kazaagold is newer doesn't mean that it's as good as some other versions. If you're going to be using kazaa anyways, I suggest
K-Lite v. 2.40 It's an older version, but it runs extremely well on my computer, which is a P-III 550mhz 128mb PC-100 RAM, Windows ME, and three 6 year old hard drives. If I can run it, anyone can. If you're interested, I got K-lite from www.oldversion.com |

Im a bit out of breath.
I agree with the above posts to remove kazaa from your system, but be wary with any P2P program that it's not too hard to download a virus disguised as your favorite song. Always check the file type. An .exe titled as a song should send up red flags.

It's gone! I only downloaded it a couple weeks ago, and the entire site is gone! I guess if you really want it, and are patient, I could send the file through AOL IM, It might take a while, seeing as I have dial-up... oh wait! I found one... http://home.hccnet.nl/h.edskes/klitekpp240e.exe (ignore the russian mail order brides... sorry about that!) |
