Toshiba laptop just died?!?!?!

OK so a little over a year ago I bought a brand new Toshiba Satellite 1115-S103 laptop. IT was great but ya know what? The warranty ranout in January and in February we started having problems. First I would be working along and the screen would darken and I couldnt see much. Toshiba Tech Support said I needed the upgraded BIOS. OK Fine did that. So far so good.....but then last week Friday night the damn thing was fine. Saturday morniong it no longer turns on at all!!!
Press on button, makes a little noise, CD ROM whirs a bit then nothing.....it just quits and sometimes even just turns itself off. Otherwise it will just sit there doing nothing and showing nothing. We have tried the function keys while starting, the "system recovery" disks...etc. So today I dropped it off to a pro to look at it. I want to know if anyone else is having this problem or knows anything about what could be going on. Me and Toshiba are going to have a little talk about replacing this ##&$*%(#@# computer. And I want to be well informed when I talk to them.

personlly i would see what the shop says, if you can get away with out paying, that would be cool, but i wouldn't pay to have it fixed(unless you really need it) then i would call Toshiba and tell them the problem and see if you can send in and have them fix. Okay..

2nd, it sounds like possible PSU? I am taking that it does it with battery and also plugged in, correct?

well this guy thats looking at it only costs me $40/hr but I cant afford to have it take long to fix it and there are things on the damn puter that cannot be replaced.
What is PSU?? and yes the same problem occurs whether on battery or plugged in.
