56K modem & XP woes

Hey ya'll
This is really basic I know but I just built a pc
ECS mobo
Duron 850
40GB HDD
8 meg vid
sbl audio
128 pc133
dvd
cdrw
98 upgraded to XP home

during the upgrade the motorola modem did not make the trip
I did not have a drivers disk and did not take the time to locate
possible drivers for the old card.
I bought a new US Robotics 56K modem
Nothing I do will get the OS to accept the dern drivers for this modem.
I point it right at the D:\2K_XP driver folder as per the instructions
"NO GO"
I download the driver via ethernet connection it has a winzip self extractor
C:\USR\2K_XP
"if you follow me"
I point at that and same thing
""CORRECT FILE DOSE NOT EXIST IN THAT LOCATION""
err!!!!

Could this be a IRQ prob?
Any Ideas?

Sorry I didn't finish helping you yesterday. I got a call and had to leave.

I downloaded the drivers for your modem this morning and it gives me a different folder than what you are saying. The folder I have is C:\USR\5699B. This and the fact that you are getting the message "CORRECT FILE DOSE NOT EXIST IN THAT LOCATION" leads me to believe you do not have the correct drivers.

Go to this link http://www.usr.com/support/product-t...asp?prod=5699b
and under Stand Alone Upgrader download WinXP Upgrader. Extract the files and point to that folder.
