it's a crap board...it's an asus tuw-la custom built for hp so asus dosen't support it....not much is labled except for code jumper A1 jumper B6 that kind of stuff. of coure just to be difficult no one wants to help me with this.....asus won't tell me anything....i didn't even find out they wouldn't support it until after i yelled. the guy said something about they never built a tuw-la then i yelled and he "found" it and said i'd need to get hp support..but they've been nothing but problems so far. just disabling the integrated stuff is what i did....but then my geforce started using stuff from my chipset....is it supposed to be like that? or is my computer just dumb? last time i buy a prebuilt..i'll tell ya that much. thanks for the help...if you have any ideas please leave em. for those of u interested....once i yell enough and get some answers i'll post em for ya. lol. just wish they didn't have to be so difficult. thanks for all the posts guy. |

Did you try disabling the onboard video in the device profile?
I found this info for another 810E board, yours should be similar. How do I replace the onboard video with an add-in PCI video adapter?
The primary video adapter can be changed from the onboard AGP to an add-in PCI adapter through the desktop board BIOS Setup utility. The setting is located in the Advanced screen under Video Configuration. |

OK, did you try installing the drivers for both the onboard video and the PCI card then going into Windows and disabling the onboard video in Control Panel> System>Device Manager> Display Adapter> Intel 810E
or something similar? It says something like "Disable in this hardware profile"
After setting the onboard to disabled in Windows and disabled in the bios, shut down the pc, reconnect the monitor to the PCI card and reboot, now install the PCI card's drivers.
FYI, your problem is not uncommon. I've seen many long threads on this forum regarding disabling onboard video. |

i've got it disabled..it appears to work fine for now. im not going to wry bout it. im building a new rig in a few months w/ an athlox 64 in it. so until then, this will suffice. but for everyone out there....do not EVER get an asus tuw-la board. i think i found the one board they will not support....ever. lol. i uninstalled the drivers adn everything on both cards and stuff and just messed around and all of a sudden i noticed a performance jump...so i just left it. lol. for those of you who are curious...i think when i was setting up the card, i'd had my monitor and an old one....and during bootup the old one was the primary monitor (onboard video) and it was too old to support xp...so i just switched monitors w/o unpluging them (i need to not be so damn lazy) and i think that might have messed up the installation. after i just made sure i uninstalled everything (both adapters and stuff) and disabled the onboard right away before it even finished installing itself....it let the card install normally...but who knows... oh well.....it's workin ok now thought...thanks for the help. |
