| Most likely cause......"Hijacker" . You may need to edit your registry to remove it.
You can try one of theses products http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html (Never used them myself but have seen them recommended numerous times on this site).
Or Adaware or Spybot S & D.
Hijackers are often ( not always) installed by means of a trojan. If you do a manual removal you will need to locate the original file as failure to remove it also will keep reinstalling the hijacker. |

Check out this tool too. It lets you disable and enable various "BHO's" - Browser Helper Objects, such as the Adobe Acrobat plugin, the Real Player plugin, the QuickTime plugin, etc. Since many spyware programs are created every week, it can be hard for the people that make the spyware programs mentioned above to keep up with the new threats. BHO Demon ( http://www.definitivesolutions.com/bhodemon.htm) - the tool I am talking about, lets you pick and choose which plugins you use, regardless of if they are known to be spyware or not. I've found that this tool, in addition to those above, resolves 99.99% of all spyware issues with most systems. |

When your computer is starting up keep pressing F8 to bring up a menu of avalible boot modes, use safe mode and run ad-aware. The reason safe mode is best to run ad-aware in is alot of spyware/hijacking stuff starts processes when your computer boots so it is impossible to delete their files if they are running. In safe mode they don't start up because it loads to least amount of drivers/processes. |
