Got SATA RAID working but know I can't see IDE drives
As soom of you helped me with it I got my SATA drives hooked up and set up with RAID0 and then installed windows on those drives. Well when I hooked up the SATA drives I unhooked all the other harddrives that I had hooked up because I didnt want to accidently loose information somehow. So when I got the SATA drives set up with windows on them I shutoff the computer and hooked up a slave drive, with IDE cables just like it was hooked up before (this drive was only used for storage before). After it got past all the text screens (right before the Windows XP screen) it just sits there and does nothing and won't boot up a thing. I dont understand this. It's like it is just looking at the IDE drive and doesn't see an OS on there so it just sits there. When I unhook the IDE drive and only have the two SATA drives hooked up it works perfect. If anybody can help please feel free to . Thanks!!
I was also wondering what the other hook up it on the back of the SATA drive. There is the power and the red SATA cable, but then there is also a little 4pin slot. I bought these drives OEM so they didnt come with any manuals. IF anybody knows please let me know also.
Once I get home from work I will go into the BIOS and try to find that in there. I looked in there for a while and couldnt find anything yesterday, but I probaly missed it.
