Hi,
My PC keeps sticking.
What I mean is, it stops responding for about 5 to 10 seconds. The cursor still moves with the mouse but no buttons, links, windows or anything responds when you click or roll over them.
The PC then 'unsticks' and everything runs normally again until the next time. It does this every five minutes at the moment.
It does this during whatever program I am running at the time; games, internet etc.
It's hot weather here in the UK at the moment (well hot for us! ). I'm grasping at straws but could it be a fan/heat problem?
Thanks |

well, if you can, list your system specs: and the temp your system is sitting in...
then we might be able to trouble shoot for you..thanks |

Ok
AMD 3000+
512MB DDR 400 Ram
20GB Hard Drive
Radeon 9800 Pro
Windows XP Professional
I've narrowed down the problem to the internet. It happens every five minutes whatever I am using the internet for, games, downloading, surfing etc.
I have recently got broadband, but this problem only arose yesterday. I took off three programs I installed yesterday but the problems persist. I have run virus scans and have Sygate firewall.

Afraid that didn't work . Both Spybot and Ad-aware got rid of some stuff but the problem persists.... Anyone have any other suggestions? |

so it wasn't doing it before you installed the 3 programs..but then it started after you installed the programs so you uninstalled them and it is still doing it....correct ???
what were the programs...maybe someone here might recongnize the program and be able to help...
what broadband company also... |

We are with Wanadoo Broadband, a european provider.
The programs I installed/uninstalled were Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and FlashMX. I got rid of them really as a shot in the dark. I doubt they had anything to do with it.
Would it be a good idea to use Windows XP's rollback feature? Perhaps I could remove what is troubling my PC with that? I haven't used it before though and know very little about it. |
