Printer Problem

I am unable to print, all of a sudden, with my Lexmark z42 printer. Message I keep getting is: problem communicating with the printer.

All settings and connections seem to be correct. Printer was ok three days ago. I have tried to print from notepad and other ways. Any suggestions???

Problem is.....printer is not listed in device manager

any yellow exclamations in device manager? (like the usb ports etc)

is it usb or parallel?

tried it in the other usb port?

got another cable to try?
