Issues with TV tuner card Install

Hi,
I just got this PCChips TV tuner card and installed it however whenever I turn power on my Dr. Voice unit for my mobo gives me some garbage about my CPU having a problem and it won't even post. However if I remove the card then it seems to come back on fine. Help me i'm stumped I tried updating the BIOS. it is an Aopen AK79D-400max mobo with an athlon 2800+

Did you seat the card properly, all the way down into the slot? If the mainboard isn't well aligned to the case, chances are you can't. In that case, loosen the mainboard holding screws a bit so it can shift around, insert your cards, and tighten them again.

Next thing to try is a BIOS update for the mainboard ... and if that doesn't help, I'd say you got a defective card there.

Yes I did try updating the BIOS as I stated originally and I've installed other cards with no problems...

Try it in another pci slot.

I had issues with my TV card, due to the order of installation of the other PCI cards is my system, but nothing as serious as the system not posting, it may be a DOA card.

Do you have any specs for the card? You might try this site which deals specifically with tv cards: http://www.tv-cards.com/messageboard/index.php
