I highly doubt that its possible, I thought about doing it before and I didn't think of a reasonable solution. |

You need video-in capabilties on the laptop.... which none of them really do.
you could buy a USB Video capture card, then run an s-video cable from the TV-out of your desktop graphics card, then display the s-video stream on the laptop using the video capture card software....
It could be done, but by the time you buy what you need for a halfass solution, your already halfway to 2/3 to buying a CRt monitor. |

The reason he may be wanting to use a latop as a monitor might be because of space issues. A laptop takes up less space than a CRT.

yes, maxivista will indeed allow you to use the laptop display (you need a nic on the laptop also and windows installed)
i've used maxivista...be warned that it's a little quirky. the software still has some rough edges that need to be worked out. |

You may try http://www.maxivista.com which allows you to use a laptop monitor as a dual monitor of any other PC. Additionally, referring to their FAQ it also allows to mirror a monitor content to another PC.
