Help identifying a spyware

I know for sure this problem is caused by a spyware. The sympton is if you put your mouse cursor over the taskbar you get a hourglass, and in general the system is sluggish. I know this is caused by a spyware because by removing bunch of spyware I was able to fix the problem on 2 PCs. I wasn't able to remove one spyware at a time to find out the culprit simply because spyware removal is pain in the butt if done one at a time So which spyware causes this?

This spyware causes a specific problem. The mouse cursor is fine if you click on Desktop items, but once you move the cursor over to the task bar you get a hourglass, and you can't click on anything on the task bar including the Start button. Pressing the Windows key on the keyboard doesn't bring up the Start menu either. I've never seen this behavior before. Saw it for the first time couple of weeks ago. Wondering if it's a single spyware causing the problem or a combination of different ones.

it's hard to know. U could run hijack this and maybe find some info in the log from that. or have a look for odd processes in task manager.

my advice would be to get adaware se

http://www.lavasoft.de/support/download/

and spybot 1.3

http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html

update both and run scans.

see if that helps.

then get a good firewall and be careful where u surf and what u download (free stuff)

Ive seen things like this before, I cant tell you for certain its spyware, becuase there is no way i can be absolutely sure. In my previous expierences it has been spyware.
system resources get used up, and for some reason it seems as if the windows shell just freezes up.
