| NTLDR missing
I formated my friend's harddrive, and when I went to install XP on it, I received an error stating NTLDR missing press ctrl, alt, delete to restart. When I try that, it just brings me to the same screen again. Any suggestions?? |

Is the machine set to boot from floppy and you have a non-bootable floppy in the drive?

Do you have the BIOS set to boot from the CD?

Just google NTLDR is missing and it will take you to the MS page with the fix. I'm running out or I'd get the link for ya. |

I'm not sure if the BIOs are set to boot from the CD rom. Since I reformated the harddrive, it just takes me straight to the NTLDR missing. Can I check the Bio without a OP? Do I do that by just pressing F1 while it is starting to get into the BIOs? What exactly do I change?
While I wait to hear from you I'll try searching in google.
Thanks!!! |

Usually just hit "delete" as it's starting to get into the BIOS, unless it's a Dell or Compaq which sometimes requires a different key press. The boot screen may even tell you which key to press to access the BIOS, just watch it closely as it's starting up. |
