I don't have a dvd burner but I definately know that quality cd-r and cd-rws matter. I would assume the same thing goes for the dvds. But if you have the time just burn everything at 2x's if problems occur. |

does "quality" make a difference?
| Yes, from what I've read a big diff. Seems like most discs will at least work in the newer drives, but sometimes not at the max speed. If you run into a incompatible disc, send the maker of the drive the info about it so they can add it to their next firmware update. |

Is that right? Are there any others that are recommended? I was thinking maybe I would get 100 "Ritek G04" discs for important backups, and 100 cheaper discs for day to day stuff (Stuff that I pass onto friends)... Would that be wise? Or would getting the cheaper stuff be a waste of money?
Thanks! |

One of the best quality burns on dvd is gotten from the NEC 2510A Duel Layer (DVD_9)AND its cheap. The burn quality matters, if you want your disc to playback, not only today but years from now an dwithout skips. Also more resistant to small scratches ruining it. http://www.cdr-zone.com/review/3/nec...sentation.html
