Exclamation
open up AOL to connect and PC crashes

I have changed dial up modem 56 K on pentium 2 128mb ram with win98SE

I install the drivers and as soon as I open AOL and try to connect what it does cause its for the first time with this modem it starts to detect the modem or anything to connect 2 the internet.

after few seconds it pops a blue screen with this msg:

a fatal exception 0E has occurred at 0028:ff082930 in VXD winachcf(01) + 00046730. The current application will be terminated

Press any key to terminate the current application
balblablab

I have changed PCI slots few times, reinstalled the drivers, updated windows and checked for any updates n nothin

any ideas guys ?

THX

Did you change the modem type in the AOL software? It may be still looking for the old modem.

thanks

the problem was:

I have installed new modem in to the tower. I have installed original drivers that came with the dial-up modem.

everytime I tryied to connect I got blue screen sayin somethin about drivers and than it would just crash.

I have reinstalled the drivers from driverguide.com and works like a charm.

no idea why these drivers were causing so much problems ....

thanks anyway
