| Stuck in a restarting loop..
A few hours ago I was playing America's Army when I minimized the window to see what was slowing my connection down. I click on America's Army to maximize it again and BOOM! XP Pro restarts for no reason.
So, I sat around for a little while trying to get it to start up correctly. I re-seated my vid card, removed the audio card I installed ( thinking maybe it was the prob), but XP Pro still restarts. It will start up and then give me a message about how there was an error or that the sys restarted and will give me a choice to start in Safe Mode, Safe Mode with Network.. with command prompt, last known working config, and normal restart. I've tried each of them and still no luck. Also, when I try to start in Safe Mode it hangs up on mup.sys every time.
Finally, after messing around I wanted to see if it would let me format the HD and just start over. I booted from the CD and it went through the process. A little into it I get a blue screen with this:
" A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
Check to be sure you have adequate disk space. If a driver is identified in the Stop message, disable the driver or check with the manufacturer for driver updates. Try changing video adapters.
Check with your hardware vendor for any BIOS updates. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you wish to use Safe Mode to remove or diable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.
Technical information:
*** STOP: 0X0000007E (0XC0000005, 0X80829F3B, 0XF7C7E404, 0XF7C7104)"
I'm completely lost with this because I don't even see why my sys restarted in the first place.

I've got a Radeon 9700 Pro.. 128MB. When I first opened my case I felt that my vid card was kinda warmer than usual so I moved my audio card originally to a farther slot and tried again after a little while. That didn't work so I removed the audio card and re-seated the vid card like I mentioned in my previous post. |

Nope. I've got a Microsoft SideWinder Precision 2 Joystick, but it's not even connected to the computer right now. In fact, I don't even think it's been connected to my other computer since I formatted it to fix my internet connection problem. |

Ugh.. I just remembered that I have a Creative SoundBlaster audio card, but I didn't have any problems with it up until now. It had been installed for a few days before this prob came along. |
