Unhappy
Any good programs to help retrieve memory back?

My system is hogging 1/2 my memory. Is there a good "easy to use" program to regain some of it?

See sig for specs

Thanks

Take a snapshop of your Processes tab for us. That's the easiest way to see whats hogging the memory.

From looking at your Processes list it looks like you are using Norton System Works. That is the main reason why you are eating so much memory. Get rid of this and you will eliminate about 8 processes and free up a bunch of memory.

CLI.exe? It looks like this might be the SETI client? Those CPU crunching programs have been known to get outta hand and eat memory.

It also looks like you are running Windows Messenger and MSN Messenger. Last I checked they do the same thing. Dump Windows Messenger. Just after reinstalling Windows XP that is the first thing I do.

That SigX program is eating 6 Mb's worth of memory.

yes i have to agree with grandchehaw remove Norton System Works and SETI, instead use PC-Cillin Internet Security and for Disk utilities use Diskepper instead.

Note: Uninstall Firewall on Trend Micro Internet Security. Use Sygate or Outpost Personal Firewall Instead.

download FreeRAM XP v1.40 to retrieve memory.

PM me if you have some questions you know
