win98 and AOL
i m going over to a friends tonite to try to clear up her machine
it has win 98se installed. and i was wondering if i can do a install over the existing os to wipe out any crap floating around without doing a reformat. is this possible,or am i looking at starting from scratch?? i ll start anew if i must, but,of course, always looking for "an easier, softer way"
i m sure the machine is clogged with all the usual spyware,so i m bringing aadaware, spybot, cwshredder, spywareguard, and spywareblaster burnt on a cd to install.
any suggestions/ideas??
thanks,eh?

No, a "dirty reinstallation" will result in a dirty machine. The only reason to do a dirty reinstallation is when you can't boot the machine. If it boots, back up everything and reinstall. Don't forget your friend's AOL organize folder.
