| Win XP detects non existent SCSI Cd drive
have this problem whereby a cdrom device known as FS_SCSI7 FS_CDAWDM_2000CD SCSI CdRom Device is detected in my system when all I have is a tdk 1616n drive. Tried to uninstall the the device but when i reboot it gets detected and installed again.. anyone encounter this problem ? How do i get rid of this extra drive which i dont even have? thanks |

did you install any burning software? nero, clonecd, alcahol 120%, etc...?

yes but before that the problem already existed.. i just thought by installing the cd software for my tdk drive it will solve it ... but it didnt |

it is a virtual drive, well I think it is, have u tried going into device manager and uninstalling it?

If you use device mgr. to remove the drive, do it from safe mode and remove all CD drives, sometimes in safe mode you will find more then one entry for the same drive.

yeah i have a program called virtualdrive by farstone is this the one ? do i uninstall it ? |

yes that is the program that is going to be making that virtual drive, if u uninstall it, it should fix your problem |
