Font Issue >> Windows 98

I have a system running Windows 98SE. The Fonts folder says that I have 366 fonts installed, and I have just recently installed some new ones. As far as what specific ones I installed - I have no idea. But now, the default text in a lot of programs is not displayed properly.

Attached is what MSN Messenger looks like for me, for example.

Any idea on what the issue is? Someone suggested that I have too many fonts installed, but all the articles I've seen claim that the max. is 1000 - 1500..?

Looks like you may have somehow overwritten a system font with a strange or corrupt font of the same name .. perhaps you could restore your fonts somehow? It could be as simple as copying the contents of the fonts folder from a similar machine into your fonts folder, overwriting the files?

Better take a backup of your fonts folder first though, just in case it goes horribly wrong.
