Is this just a case of them being listed as CDRoms in the windows explorer list?
If so this is not that uncommon and shouldnt make any difference to performance.
have you tried burning with them? |

3 different cd drives, none came with drivers, used an oem version of nero each (we buy all parts oem...) checked the sites and there are no special drivers. on each of the computers, the cd drives are found as cd drives, but not as burners. when you go to burn with nero, nero says you don't have any burners. it's different drives in the computers though, so that is what is odd. |

its not just nero though....windows dosen't recognise them as cd burners either. under device manager they are still considered regular cd drives. i'll try it though...i won't get a chance till monday..but i'll try it then. |
