hi all. recently i had some sort of malware on my pc, i think it was a variation of coolwwwsearch. well i finally got rid of it after doing all sorts of things. the problem is, after i got rid of it, IE doesnt want to act right with some web pages.
for example, now when i try to log in to my Gmail account, it gives me a blank page. but i can view -> source the page and there is a generated url in the source that when i paste it into my address bar it goes through and i am logged in. so the problem isnt really logging in, its that IE isnt letting google change the url to what it needs to be.
example 2: when i go into amazon.com, it wont let me search for anything. i type what i want in the search bar and click the search button or hit "enter" but it does nothing. it just sits there and acts as if i never searched at all.
i have no idea what is causeing all this. i tried to mess around with the security settings but that didnt help. i am lost. does anyone know what to do to fix it? if it requires an uninstall/reinstall of IE then will somebody please tell me how to do that? thanks!
btw, im running winXP pro SP1 and IE 6
