bad driver i'm guessing or bad cable
if you don't have a cdrom with driver on it, goto the manafacturer of the usb device and download its drivers..
if the driver doesn't fix it, try a different cable as it is possible that the cable might be faulty... |

maybe you have a hard drive.. if you pulled out the 200gb and tried the 40gb...
if your still an io error try changing out the usb cable, if this still doesn't work, try pulling the hard drive out its caddy connecting to an ide cable and see if it can be seen by an mainboard, then reseat in its caddy and see if its being detected by the usb, if the io st persists there's a fault somewhere between the hard drives docking port and the usbs cable connection.. you should of got a cd or a 3.5" floppy disc with the driver for the caddy on it... is this a namebrand hard drive caddy... does your main board support usb2.0???? |
