New System won't load operating system
I've just built a new system using:
asus p4c800 deluxe motherboard
W.D. 160GB Hard Drive
Intel P4 3.0 CPU (Prescott)
The machine starts up & tests fine. When I try to load WinXP Prof. things go great until 19-34 min remaining. At this point, the computer just shuts off (not restart total shut off). On reboot the instal starts at 39 min remaining goes to same point and shuts off. There is no indication of MB or CPU overheating. Any ideas?

Could be faulty memory. Find out what kind of memory you have and see if Asus has recommended memory settings for that board.
I had a Shuttle board that didn't work well with ECC memory, and I found it out the hard way. I also had similar troubles with installing XP with that combination.

Welcome to Techimo!!
Sounds like memory to me also.
The final legacy of the United States will be that in the end liberalism shamed & destroyed the heritage of this great nation. How sad as I see no turning back. When in Rome ..

i got this similar prob. on an asus p4. It could be a faulty video card.. just replace it. or if u dont have one yet, the integrated graphics chip cud help for now.
so u can finish u installation and find a new card later....sempron 2400+ at 2ghz, 6600gt 540/1030, 2x 512 ddr 200mhz
